Pedalwise
Your rides stay yours

Privacy policy

Effective 12 October 2026 · App version 1.0

Pedalwise is developed by Julian Sainz Martinez (Jelluna). The app has no account, no advertising, no analytics SDK and no tracking. There is no developer-operated server: your bikes, maintenance history and places are stored on your iPhone.

Stored on your device

Pedalwise stores what you enter so the app can work: your bikes and their specifications (for example motor, torque, battery, weights, tires, brakes), your riding preferences, maintenance tasks and service history, rides you log or finish, saved places such as Home and Work, recent destinations, and settings. This information never leaves your iPhone except as part of your own device backups, under your Apple settings.

Route planning

To calculate routes, Pedalwise sends the start and destination coordinates of the trip, a few routing preferences (such as bike type, typical speed and how much you prefer bike lanes or avoid hills) and the resulting route shape to our routing provider, Stadia Maps, which hosts the open-source Valhalla routing engine on OpenStreetMap data. Requests do not include your name, Apple Account, bike name, maintenance data or a persistent identifier. Stadia Maps processes requests to return the route and may keep technical logs, such as IP addresses, under its privacy policy to operate and protect its service.

Location

With your permission, the app uses your iPhone's location while it is open to plan routes from where you are and to follow your progress during a ride. Your location history is not stored by Pedalwise and is not sent anywhere except the start point of a route you request, as described above. You can turn location access off in iPhone Settings and type a start point instead.

Maps and place search

The map, place search and address suggestions are provided by Apple MapKit. Search queries and map requests are processed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.

Purchases

Subscriptions and free trials are handled by Apple. The app uses StoreKit to check whether Pedalwise Pro is active, its renewal date and whether you are eligible for a trial. Payment details are never shared with the developer.

Reminders

Maintenance reminders are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone. They are not sent through a server.

Your control

You can edit or delete any bike, task or place in the app. My Bike → Settings → Erase all data removes everything Pedalwise stored on your device and its scheduled reminders. It does not affect your Apple subscription, files you exported (such as GPX routes) or your device backups.
